Referred to as the California of Europe, the Basque Country has a temperate oceanic climate all year round and plenty of sunshine in which to enjoy all the fun of the sea and mountains.

The Basque Coast is the flagship region for surfing and is the venue of many international competitions. There are 5 thalassotherapy centres along the 35km Basque Country’s 35km of coastline. It is also a golfers’ paradise with 11 legendary golf courses within a 30km radius! The Pyrenean mountains provide a wealth of opportunities for hikers of all levels to enjoy exceptional surroundings

  • Nature:

The region has splendid landscapes, some of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. There are many fun activities, as well as more demanding sports activities to do with the whole family or with friends.

  • Heritage & culture:

The Basque Country has a rich and unique ancestral culture. International festivals are also regularly held (classical music, polyphonic chants, pelota, dance and cinema) thanks to its high quality cultural facilities (classic and contemporary museums, theatres, auditoriums).

  • Gastronomic tradition:

The Basque Country’s world-renowned  gastronomy draws its inspiration from both land and sea.
